My sister and I are both in our 50s. We decided about 15 years ago to stop exchanging Christmas gifts with each other and just give gifts to each others kids. All we'd been buying each other for years at that point was gift cards. so I was happy when she proposed it. A few years ago, she started sending me gifts again (a single gift each year).
I opened my present this morning and there were nice floor mats for my new car. However, my car came with carpeted mats from Nissan with the model of the car stitched into them. I'm not replacing what I have with this:

She clearly spent money, and now I'm feeling terribly guilty about not liking a gift that I didn't ask for. I've texted a couple of friends, but if no one wants these, I'm going to wind up leaving them out by the dumpster for a stranger.
If you have an agreement not to exchange present w/someone, I'd recommend sticking with it.
