I really dislike full service hotels that have a sign in the bathroom encouraging you to be "sustainable" by reusing towels and letting them get away changing linens less than every day unless specifically requested. By "sustainable" you mean "cheap" and you come across as some chintzy Motel 6. Please stop with this nonsense.

Be a rebel, throw the damp/used towels on the floor (that hasn't been cleaned either).

Yeah! And stop bolting the shampoo to the wall. I wanna take it it home!

When I stay in a hotel by myself and there are two beds, I sleep in both of them.

You guys let housekeeping into your room? Whenever I stay at a hotel I leave the "do not disturb" hanger on the entire time I am there. If I need more towels I just call the front desk.

Door closers more loose than your collective mothers, and people who don't know any better.

The new trend I really hate is hotels not putting locks on bathroom doors. Especially when you've got small kids that just barge in at their leisure.

Just like at home:

Dad showering? Precisely the time when everyone in the family needs something out of the same bathroom, probably multiple times.

Mom showering? Nobody enters.

The thing I hate is, even if you stay in a 7-star hotel and get their Presidential Suite at $15k/night, you're still getting single ply toilet paper.

As someone who is in the vacation rental business I can tell you that bar soap is f'ing disgusting and leaves residue/goo that is harder to clean up than body wash, especially when guests leave the leftover bar of soap sitting in water.

Yeah that's not how it is at my house. When my wife showers… I try to go in all the time.

I usually pay $200/night and up at a hotel. I just don't care if it's a little harder for them to run a rag over the soap area in the shower.

But housekeeping does, and that's why hotels are moving away from bar soap. My cleaning crew was much happier after I stopped providing it.

People who order room service and then leave the food trash / dishes in the hall are disgusting pigs. Just freaking call the people to come get them. It's officially on the bad etiquette list for staying in hotels.

You should make your customer wash and change the sheets themselves. And clean and sanitize the bathroom too. And you should charge a cleaning fee on top of the rental price.

Think how happy that would make your cleaning crew!

After all, apparently the goal is to satisfy the cleaning crew.

Ever since old boy turned the MGM Grand into his own personal sniper's nest, after 24 hours or so they're coming in anyway. You don't have to let them clean if you're actually in there the whole time (which, why the heck would you do that?), but they will be looking in on you.
