My daughter went into the 6th grade until she finally gave in. She defended Santa until grandma finally told her and she finally gave up. She then forced it on her little brother after his third grade year because she felt it was too much of a hassle keeping the faith for the fat guy.

Jesus still lives in this house....and always will.

Get yourself a tooth fairy pillow. We've got a little pillow (about 8 inch by 8 inch) that my mom used for us as kids and then passed it to me. It has a small pocket sewn on the side. Tooth goes in the pocket, and gets set next to the bed or against the wall. (Not under the kid's head). Then when it's time to get the tooth and leave the money there is no searching or moving a kid out of the way.

This. I thought it was normal.

My mom made all of us our and has made them for the grand kids too.

I went a step further and asked her to sew a loop on the pillows for my kids. The kids hang it on their door at night (doors get closed at bedtime). No chance of getting busted.

Never heard of a tooth pillow until this thread.

When our son(now c/o 25) was little, he did not want the tooth fairy to take HIS tooth!
I told him not to worry,
Tooth fairy will take the tooth & leave a couple bucks in his tooth pillow for him then come to our room & wake me up to pay double to get the tooth back.
That's how the tooth fairy makes a living with money to give the next kid...

This for sure. We use the one that was my wife's when she was a little girl. It gets set on the dresser. Of course, we've still almost gotten caught trying to sneak in right before sunrise when we forgot to put the money in there the night before.

During COVID our tooth fairy was scared of being exposed. So we now hang teeth in ziplock bags on the outside of the door.

Mine are 10 & 12 and my wife asked me the other day what the heck to do with all the teeth. I figured she wanted them and she said NO. She's ready to trash them.

We also have a pillow but the boys lose them half the time
