True in the cities, but not true in the small towns where cops have nothing better to do. Also College Station, where they still have a stick up their ass about weed for some reason.Irish 2.0 said:
You have to really really really piss off a cop these days to get cited for weed. They don't care and it isn't worth their time. As long as you're not stoned off your ass and a dick, you probably won't even get a ticket for it.
It is also necessary to recognize who runs CO and when the legalization occured. What has dramatically changed in the course of the nine years since it was leaglized? When you stop prosecuting crimes, crimes will go up. Weed has nothing to do with it.fightintxaggie10 said:
Anecdotally, I've heard from multiple people in Colorado that crime has gone way up since legalization. Not sure if that's a cause or a correlation. I believe that though. Several people who don't know each other have told me that. It's worth understanding when considering legalization
Why does that matter if you aren't driving?histag10 said:redline248 said:
Weed illegal while tobacco is all over the place is one of the silliest things...and I don't smoke either one
Weed impairs your reflexes and response time. Tobacco doesn't.

You're free to drive all over your property with no license. Want to drive on a public roadway? You need a license to prove you are capable of operating your vehicle without being a danger to other motorists. Based on the way most of y'all morons drive, the requirements needed to be met for such license should be substantially higher. And driving in the passing lane for no reason should merit the death penalty.Ragnar Danneskjoldd said:ohhh thought this was a freedom conversation713nervy said:Ragnar Danneskjoldd said:

Whoa whoa whoa, I'm all for freedom, so long as the government is making sure my freedom is approved and safe.Slicer97 said:You're free to drive all over your property with no license. It's not just the football players. CSPD preys on everyone and cares about 1 thing, only. Ticket quotas.deer corn said:barbacoa taco said:True in the cities, but not true in the small towns where cops have nothing better to do. What's stopping the Texas legislature from legalizing it, anyway? The REAL reason? Is it morals?
A lieutenant governor who's obsessed with bathrooms and saw the movie reefer madness as a youth and it scared him ****less. Now he thinks weed is evil and will keep it out of Texas at all cost.713nervy said:

It's probably more likely there are some powerful lobby groups in Texas keeping it from showing up in a vote. Maybe MADD, some religious groups. I've read that tobacco, alcohol and pharmaceutical groups lobby against it as well.Grapesoda2525 said:A lieutenant governor who's obsessed with bathrooms and saw the movie reefer madness as a youth and it scared him ****less. Just like everything with politics. If the other side perceives something as good, then it must be bad. And we've got to pwn them.713nervy said:

I think the point here is the difference between Libertarianism vs. Conservatism. These groups agree on things such as free markets, but they disagree on other issues.
I think the opening statements around 10:27 in this video show this:
