Damn, I didn't realize that Gene Cernan had passed. I had the pleasure to have lunch with him in 2008 in San Antonio at a Doolittle Raiders reunion. "The hardest thing a human can do is land an airplane on an aircraft carrier at night."

From a man (the last man) that walked on the moon that says something about Naval Aviation.

Grew up down the street from Charlie Duke in New Braunfels. Still have his book and a picture of him on the moon that he autographed.

He was at my in-law's wedding back in the '50s. My MIL's first husband was a test pilot who was killed in a training accident. He was a friend of Buzz. When MIL remarried (to my wife's father), Buzz attended the wedding. I know... Cool story!
