Any of you olds pull the trigger on one of these? Looks like $7-9k or so. Friend has one and loves it. Wife is wondering if it would help her back/neck (some herniated cervical discs) issues.

They have some with 'smart' platforms that go >10k. Apparently it listens for your snoring and then elevates your head. I'm a little worried what it would hear/do during sexy times.

The only reason I would get a split is if you are getting the split adjustable base. On that note, we kept our older memory foam mattress and got an adjustable base and it was the best decision we have ever made. Skip the expensive garbage, get a decent memory foam .actress and an adjustable base and pocket the extra 5k

Ours will be delivered this week coming.
Got the split adjustable base from Sams. Waaaaaay cheaper than the tempurpedic base. All in, i think we were right at 8k for mattress and base. Better be good!

Latex lasts longer and has better bounce than memory foam. Also cooler. Something like this allows you to customize the layers and left/right split: https://sleepingorganic.com/product/latex-mattress/

I bought a Zinus brand memory foam mattress from Amazon when my expensive branded one was no longer comfortable. I can't tell the difference from the expensive one when it was new, and it's now 2 years old.

Ask your friend to borrow it one night…..take your lady to pound town and see what you think?

Wait and buy one from Gallery the next time Mac does his Astros promotion. That's how I got mine for free
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

I like my latex mattress, but will note that it's heavy as hell.

I bought a split king adjustable base with a firm no-name memory foam mattress from Costco about seven months ago. It's been great. I wasn't sure that memory foam would provide the firmness or support I wanted but I have been very pleaded. I haven't had any issues with it being too hot which is another pleasant surprise. I can't imagine paying thousands more for brand name foam. I believe I paid $2800 when it was on sale.

We bought a sleep number split king a few years ago.

Being able to raise head/foot separately (for each side) is kind of nice/convenient, especially if one person has some kind of body aches/pains/snoring/congestion/etc, but the split in the middle is a little annoying when you want to be close together.

We're thinking of moving the bed to a guest room and have it be 2 individual beds with a nightstand between the two. Not sure what we'll look into next but it won't be Sleep Number nor TempurPedic (already tried that one...wife didn't like it). We may look into the purple mattress; slept on one of those a couple of times and it seemed pretty good.

Some of the tempurpedic models are on closeout right now. One is a tempur cloud hybrid. We love ours.

Adjustable mattresses are great, especially when recovering from illness, injury or surgery. I was reluctant when we got ours because of cost and 'if I want to sit up I'll just prop myself up on pillows" but it has been great.

We spent an ungodly amount on the split king adjustable temperpedic and my wife wife and I both love it. Highly recommended.
