I feel like I run in different circles than some of yall. Whenever Waco (rarely) comes up in conversation, we usually end up talking about the Melody Ranch, or George's Bar. Or Sonny's. Not Chip and Joanna.

I've got a buddy who thinks she's kinda hot. I don't get it.

Im not saying she's a 10, but likely her ethnic ambiguity and personality make her very attractive to me.

I mean, I have seen way more expensive things that seem just as quality or appealing as the stuff from Magnolia. And most of the functions provided from ANY furniture or home goods could equally be achieved through the use of a combination of some stumps from a cut down tree down the road combined with the packaging all this crap gets shipped with.

But at least the Gaines are about as good of people as you can expect a real family running a real business of that level to be, and they are benefiting a part of Texas that really has no appeal otherwise.

Given the amount of interaction those people have to deal with and their high visibility, there are going to be, based on law of averages, at least some that are negative. I've had interactions with some real asshats in the business world, and I've dealt with actually nice people, and even the nice ones had dealings or interactions that rubbed people the wrong way. Sure, I don't know then personally, but nothing I have seen from anywhere points to them falling into the asshat category.

Chip had owed a lot of my contractors high 6 figures for over a year. After they became famous, one of the contractors asked Chip if he would be in a commercial. He said "Sure….for 1M". They aren't good people
