I went to a highly ranked competitive suburban public high school and took all honors classes. I am a millennial. I graduated top 1 percent of my class. I bring that up to tell you that I know all of the top students. I am doing OK but not as good as the people who majored in Finance.
There is unbelievable wealth in private equity, investment banking, hedge fund, VC, and corporate finance.
All the people who majored in Finance are doing extremely well.
All the people who majored in other things are doing mediocre to outright terrible.
I am talking about salary and quality of life which is pretty important in the current hyper-inflationary economic climate.
I know this might be controversial, but you will thank me in a couple of decades. 52-58 percent of millennials are still living with their parents and the number 1 reason stated is poor personal financial situation. Don't let that happen to your children.
I didn't major in it so I have no incentive to hype it up. It is not a coincidence that everyone who majored in finance is doing so great.
