I have thought about this for a while and the conversation on this site and many others has degraded over time. I think the reasons are myraid and the only thing I can think of that would truly make a difference is if people were willing to put their name behind what they say. I realize there is a risk involved in revealing your name online but I am starting to wonder if the risk is worth it. I really believe that in this community there is more that binds us than separates us but if you read almost any thread it wouldn't seem that way.

IRL there are people that call me by my username. I guess it is a nickname which is almost as good as a real name.

my original user name was my first name. Then I changed it to Charpie because I got doxxed.

I have plenty of other social media with my real/full name. I like connecting on those platforms. Part of the fun of Texags is being anonymous. But if I got doxxed, I would stand behind all my posts. I don't troll (much), and I'm not an instigator. I've also never actually used the word "instigator" until just now. And I used it twice. That's badass.

I had it as my real name at one point and most of my irl friends know my handle but someone doxxed me and threatened some stuff personally that made me change my handle to what it is now, so no, I wouldn't.
