I have thought about this for a while and the conversation on this site and many others has degraded over time. I think the reasons are myraid and the only thing I can think of that would truly make a difference is if people were willing to put their name behind what they say. I realize there is a risk involved in revealing your name online but I am starting to wonder if the risk is worth it. I really believe that in this community there is more that binds us than separates us but if you read almost any thread it wouldn't seem that way.

Idk man I just wish everyone I know who doesn't post here didn't think of this site as a joke.

Putting your name out there used to be a sign of "I don't shy away from my words", now it's just a sign of not knowing how crazy some people on the internet really are and how much free time they really have.

My original account was my name, then it changed to something else. Then I had to abandon that ship and creat this account because of a super creepy dude

But also, would never do that again, especially with the cancel culture and doxxing that people seem to think is okay when they disagree with you. Many people know what my real name is and/or know me IRL. If you don't, there might be a reason.

I have plenty of other social media with my real/full name. I like connecting on those platforms. Part of the fun of Texags is being anonymous. But if I got doxxed, I would stand behind all my posts. I don't troll (much), and I'm not an instigator. I've also never actually used the word "instigator" until just now. And I used it twice. That's badass.

I had it as my real name at one point and most of my irl friends know my handle but someone doxxed me and threatened some stuff personally that made me change my handle to what it is now, so no, I wouldn't.
