I still love watching these damn things. Maybe it's just because I was in high school when these they all came out and me and all of my friends laughed our asses off at all the bizarre situations. But they still crack me up. And I miss when chicks dressed and looked like the chicks in these movies.

If you like American Pie, you need to hit up the "Porkies" movies.

Couldn't keep a straight face when I saw "Stiffler's Mom" when I watched "A Series of Unfortunate Events" with my kids.

I watched some of "American Pie" the other night. It was eye-opening to be reminded what movies used to be like in terms of the raunchiness and blunt humor. I know it's become a cliche, but I doubt you could make a movie like that today.

Edited to add: And I laughed a lot.

Stifler's mom hasn't held up too well. Oh I'd still hit it but I'm not going to enjoy it as much.

I graduated HS in '00, so the first couple American Pie movies pretty much line up with where I was in life. I guess that's why I like them so much.

Off topic but related. I've always said '94 was the best year for movies in my lifetime and will never be topped. Last night, I took a look at '99 and there are a lot of classics from that year as well.

True story...back around '07 or so, a girl I worked with and I went up to Austin to hang out with a couple of other co-workers who had just moved up there. None of them were from Texas or had been to Austin before, so I told them about the Saltlick and we decided to go out there for an early dinner Saturday before going out in Austin. We're sitting outside at the tables waiting to be taken in and seated, and I noticed a lot of people were going up to the table behind us with pens and stuff, so I turned around to see who it was. The first woman I saw took me a few seconds to recognize, but it was Heather Graham, who was finishing off a bottle of Shiner. There was also a blonde lady with her back to me who turned around to take a picture with a couple of little girls, and it was Jennifer Coolidge, but instead of being quiet or calling her by her name, I blurted out with excitement "IT'S STIFFLER'S MOM!" She looked at me with a "go to hell" look while Heather Graham busted out laughing.

Now that I think about it, it was '08. We all went through a 6-month training program that started in July '07, and we were all in our new positions/locations effective Jan '08, so it would have been in the spring of '08 when we went up there because we watched the Kentucky Derby at a bar off of Congress.

I just enjoyed watching a simple movie about dudes trying to bang hot chicks and the lengths they'll go through to do it. It's real life for high school kids and we can all relate to that.

It was nice to not have any political or social justice stuff shoehorned in there.

I find myself watching old movies and television shows more and more, because of this.

I have seen at least 3 shows this year where the character gets a colonoscopy. Just what I am looking for in my entertainment.

Why is an emaciated Tara Reid wearing a revealing two piece instead of this young lady?

That and Revenge of The Nerds. Lots of great...well you know. I was way to young to see them, but my cousins didn't care. That's when I knew I was a boob man.

False. I don't know when it became cool to hate on that place but I think it's really good.

yes it is. It's why they closed the shop on 360 in Austin. ****ty bbq is ****ty bbq. Driftwood or anywhere else.

I eat there every now and then because it's a convenient place to meet my friends. But make no mistake, Salt Lick is ****ty bbq.
