Yeah but there was a non-antique version before that.

For what ever reason the rings were coating in a redish tinted clear coat.

nope natural was an option even before that. It was popular Pre WW2 and wasn't removed as an option until balfour took over the entire process

It was called a "rose" finish. Went away in 97.

Natural is basically the new "rose", right? I'd guess 95% of rings folks in the 90s were getting were rose, so if that's gay, then the campus was one big gay orgy. I'm class of 96 and don't remember any big gay orgies, but I was drinking a lot back then

The association will tell you it was actually Jostens that went to all antique finishes in the late 30's when they had the contract.

I'm class of '90 and had either choice.

edit, I'll correct myself, you could get the rose finish. Which I did and which was easily removed with little ammonia.

I don't know about that other stuff, but antiqued is easier to get looking clean again after you've been hiding your ring in your prison wallet to keep the VC from getting their greasy hands on it

BTW, left hand was made popular back in the day when many, if not most Aggies wore it as their wedding ring, They got their fiancee an Aggie sweetheart ring, which is the same thing as the current ladies ring. Several of my friends parents/grandparents did this.

I think that's just cool as sh**.
