I actually don't mind either one. But a few things come to mind. Don't fly the flag because of the virus. Fly the flag because you're a goddam proud red blooded American and you should be flying the flag every single day! And a red ribbon around a tree? Like we need some kind of reminder that all of us are being forced to deal with this crap. Where's the bird flu ribbon? We should all get a new TexAgs badge that says we had a TexAgs account during the corona virus outbreak.
And if you truly want to help businesses that are being hit by this outbreak, a ribbon isn't going to do anything. Like and share their social media stuff if they have any. Write a review on google (5 star reviews on google are worth more than gold in some industries). See if you can buy a gift card from them now so you can use it when the panic is over.
Otherwise, skip the ribbon and just blast "We are the world" loud enough for the whole neighborhood to hear. That way they definitely know you're in this together.
