So are you a Patriots' bandwagon fan?
All those championships and yet still a 2nd rate team after the Cowboys.AgOutsideAustin said:RealTalk said:AgOutsideAustin said:

Nope started liking them when Jim Plunkett was their QB. Then Steve Grogan at QB wearing a neck roll. Loved Russ Francis, Sam Bam Cunningham, John Hannah. Cried when Darryl Stingley got paralyzed. Bandwagon didn't have as many people on it back then.

Ratings pimp slapping the Pats and Packers prime time games with a Sunday afternoon time slot.Quote:
The Dallas Cowboys hosting the NY Giants on Fox averaged 23.9 million, making it the network's most-watched opener since 2016.
NBC's "Sunday Night Football" Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots as well as the Sept. 5 Thursday night prime time kickoff game between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears each averaged 22.2 million.
I don't root for New England, but it's pretty clear that Tom Brady is the closest thing to Captain America we have in this country, and the Cowboys have been irrelevant for 20+ years.ac04 said:Woody2006 said:

i hope he continues as long as it triggers dorks who root for new england
I'm no fan of Robert Kraft, but your owner is Jerry Jones and you're talking owner smack?Quote:

Apparently somebody does. Doing a google search for America's team brings up the Cowboys.Woody2006 said:I don't root for New England, but it's pretty clear that Tom Brady is the closest thing to Captain America we have in this country, and the Cowboys have been irrelevant for 20+ years.ac04 said:Woody2006 said:

Nobody calls them "America's team" except fanboys.

Irrelevant to the actual game of football. Of course, fanboys suffering from unreasonable expectations of grandeur will point to tv contracts or jerseys sold... but I mean the NY Knicks could say the same thing. The cowboys have been about as relevant to NFL football over the past 2 decades as the NY Knicks, and just like the Knicks they will continue to disappoint a lot of fans.Bo Darville said:Woody2006 said:I don't root for New England, but it's pretty clear that Tom Brady is the closest thing to Captain America we have in this country, and the Cowboys have been irrelevant for 20+ years.ac04 said:Woody2006 said:

This is stupid. America's team is a marketing term and it's tied to them. Probably always will be. And the cowboys, like the NY Yankees, will always be relevant even if they have multiple losing seasons in a row. There's a reason they are worth what they are.

It was a game that felt like it was being played deep in the heart of Texas -- an entire side of the lower bowl was full of blue and white Cowboys jerseys, who just about outnumbered Redskins fans. Sounds of "Coop" filled the stadium after Cooper's catches, and there was a loud "DE-FENSE" chant when Washington had the ball.
This is Texas's team:C@LAg said:Hell,t hey are not even "Texas's Team".Bo Darville said:C@LAg said:

They will always be America's Team. It's a marketing gimmick and will forever be associated with them.
They are "A" Texas team.
I think I'm gonna change my fantasy team name to Steve Grogan's NeckrollAgOutsideAustin said:RealTalk said:AgOutsideAustin said:
