When he was ducking out on normal dinners, it seemed like vigilante justice and kind of a good joke, especially if he was targeting moochers. This is too far... although I have no doubt that some of these women have stolen hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of food and drink from guys they have no intention of dating.

I'm genuinely curious, do women really do this? I wouldn't dream of sitting through an entire meal with someone I didn't actually want to spend time with. And I can't say that I've ever had a friend tell me she went out with a guy just for a free meal.

It seems more likely that women are realizing during the course of the date that they aren't attracted/interested after all, and the jilted guy comes up with this narrative that the woman was just scamming a free meal.

I always expect to go dutch on the first couple dates. More often than not, he will insist, so then I'll show him how properly grateful I am.

There's a local place here called BJ's Brewhouse. Pretty good place. Took a first date there, thought it would be dropping a not-so-subtle hint. Paid for her margaritas and expensive salad. She didn't get the hint.

Knew a girl in undergrad who had profiles all across the internet picking up guys to buy her food. This was when "random play" was still on Facebook, so she'd have these profiles all over and would just go on dates leading guys on all the time. I kinda get it, in her case, since her family was below the poverty line and she didn't really have the money for food apart from the other stuff poor people eat like beans. This was in 04, so this isn't anything new.

They dodged a bullet, really, she gave me HPV. I tell women nowadays that I sliced a chunk off my tallywhacker when I was in high school trying to shave my pubes, since there's a noticeable scar from the warts getting frozen off.
