That doesn't make them good.

And Natalie Maines still sounds like a pair of amorous cats.

I'll definitely still listen to them over the majority of the crap country music has put out.

Enjoyed their music for many years until Natalie decided to take a dump on their careers. She is still angry and clueless as to what major mis-step she took. Not sure what she expected to happen when her fan base and the country music industry in general took great offense to how and where she expressed her opinion of the Pres. Haven't looked at them the same since.

Just my opinion, but they were due for a let down. In the music biz it is hard to maintain that high level of success. It can be done, but there are more declines than successes. The fact that they were moving more mainstream indicates they were already becoming generic. Natalie Maines' father undoubtedly had the clout to help them be more than just another novelty girl band. They were probably going to release a mediocre album or start doing solo work. All that anti-GWB statement did was just accelerate the process.

Good band. Not great. Their music today sounds dated.

The two sisters are incredibly talented musicians. Being from the Lubbock area we always really enjoyed their music. My mom is very close friends with Natalie's mother and talks to her frequently. Hadn't listened to them since their incident. Then they put the nail in the coffin with their song Lubbock or Leave It. Natalie has always been a bit of a rebel, not sure what prompted her to become such a liberal as her family are normal Texans. It's a bit of a shame but they made tons of money along the way. I randomly saw a music video from them about a year ago while I was in a body shop, prompted me to look into them a bit. They are still together but the sisters play in other groups. They try to do some stuff here and there but it rarely gets any traction in the states. Piss on em

There are very few artists that I will change the radio station when I hear a song played, but these are one - agmom even notices when I hear the first few notes of one of their songs

I will change for Dixie Chicks, Rascal Flatts, and FGL. Most other stuff I will let play out or give it a shot, but not those three.

They do make good music. I used to see them playing for tips on a street corner at the West End in Dallas when I was your age. This was pre-Natalie Maines. I enjoy their music, but don't go out of my way to seek it out.

I'm old and Starbucks isn't on my radar, never been a coffee drinker. I don't do the shopping, but if I did it wouldn't be at Target.

Rest assured it doesn't impact my life a whole lot to avoid places that pander to the "woke" crowd. Even so, why would I subsidize businesses that support social issues that I am against? I don't spend a lot of time on it and it isn't ruling my world on a daily basis, but given a choice I'll choose the business that avoids pandering to the woke crowd. Example, NIke? I'm out. Plenty of other options.

But it's cool that you are immune to this mindset. I have kids slightly older than you and I'm around them and their friends. I understand your generation and don't begrudge you. I'm just predicting that your tolerance levels for this BS will change with time. My kids are already changing, slowly but surely. It's funny what some time beyond college and a good paycheck/real world experience will do to a person's judgement.

You do you though.

I'm older and I have three kids. I've been making a good paycheck for over 20 years. Doesn't bother me in the slightest. Just because you are an uptight snowflake doesn't mean that's normal. I have never once considered the political beliefs of anyone before I bought their products. Why? Because it doesn't matter.

We get it, you're older and have a career. Struggling for the 2nd reply in a row to understand what "real money" has to do with it, but go off sis. Also, I used to care a lot about stuff like that, but it wastes too much energy caring about things that will never affect me. Not immune, just really could care less.

To respond to the "real money" comment. Social issues usually come at a cost and almost always are government funded in one way or another. When you start paying taxes on your income, and I don't mean a college job/internship, I'm referring to a your full time job that is the basis for building wealth, buying a house, getting married, raising a family - you will see quickly how bitter and frustrated you will get with the amazing waste of your tax dollars on social issues and related stuff that is TOTAL AND UTTER BULLSH**.

Then and only them will you begin to understand.

I have to honestly say that I don't know why any artist who is selling their work for a living sees value in doing this. Take any issue where there is a sizeable group supporting both sides, and where it is contentious enough that you think anybody is likely to give a rat's a** what you have to say about it. If you voice your opinion forcefully and publicly on that issue, what do you stand to gain? You know you are going to piss off a big chunk of the people that disagree with you...and the people that care what you say and already agree with you, what more can they do for you if they are already buying your stuff? On any issue that contentious, nobody is changing their minds because some random country music artist speaks their mind about it. So what have you really gained other than losing a chunk of your paying fans?

Even more egregious for Natalie Maines was the hideous, unflattering outfit she was wearing in the Earl Had to Die video.
