It's probably been 25 years since I've been to a Luby's.

I did the all you can eat breakfast at Luby's a couple of times. Turns out I can't actually eat all that much, so it was less amazing than I thought it might be. Food was fine, but Jim's is better.

Bland food with no seasoning. So gross.

Agree. With Heinze 57 in my case. I don't know how to make it, and my wife abhors it, so Luby's is my go to for it.

Back in school the Luby's in Bryan had several Mexican ladies that worked the serving line. I would hit Luby's for a LuAnn platter with L&O's and sweet talk the servers and they would serve me about a pound and a half of the wonderful stuff. I wanna say the LuAnn with a drink back then was like $5,79 or $6.29 all in and I could get like 2 meals out of it. They would do the same thing with Turkey and dressing.

Not since my grandmother died 17 years ago.

Luby's is gone next! Then HEB!!

Tyler had three Luby's, now none. The last out, which had been many years in Bergfeld Center near my house, closed a few months ago. RIP.

Luby's put up some really tasty simple dishes and the portions were good, but their desserts were out of this world. I deceived myself by always getting a "reduced sugar" slice (good-sized) of chocolate or coconut pie -- both were stupendous. Thank goodness I never did but I was often tempted to get three or four and call it a meal.

I'd be curious to know where Luby's still has locations? That is a name that deserves to survive.

Sorry. But it's inevitable. There are a few places started in San Antone that are done. The few I know are Jim's which is still ok, bill millers(sucks besides fried chicken), churches chicken. I think Jim's might be local still? But I'm not sure on that.

The whipped cheesecake with graham crust on top is the best dessert they have.

MY favorite thing at Luby's has always been their mac and cheese. HEB sells that too

There's at least one Jim's in Austin.

San Antonio has at least four that I can think of right now. And SO MANY JIM'SES. Pretty sure Jim's is still local, part of the Frontier Enterprises juggernaut.

The Valley has a bunch, back in the day Luby's was valley royalty for eating out places. And as recently as 3 to 5 years ago had been opening new locations down here.

The snowbirds of the past loved cafeterias and the Mexicans do to. Mexicans do frequent Luby's quite a bit.

Longview still has a Luby's if you ever get over that way. Across the loop from the mall.

Luby's fried fish or roast beef. Wish they would reopen in BCS.

The one near my house is now a used car dealership. The food is amazing, but it is a cafeteria. I miss the old ladies with the tea and water cart.

Their French dressing is amazing.

If you eat at Luby's, likely the only thing you're tipping is the scales.

Pretty proud of yourself with that one aren't you.
