My apologies that this is a super lame, domestic scenario but here goes....
We have a neighbor with a similar address on a different street. Our places are about 50 yards from each other as the crow flies across the alley. This week, Amazon delivered a package to their place. I know this because Amazon took a picture of delivery and it's clearly the neighbor's place. This is the third time that I know of this happening (based on photographic evidence) in the past few months. It's possible it's happened even more, but Amazon doesn't always take a picture on delivery. I rang their doorbell and they didn't answer, so I left a note that had a print out from Amazon showing the package being left on their door step. The note just said it was my nephew's birthday present and asked if they would either leave it at our door, or sent me a text and I'd be happy to retrieve it from their front door step. Of course I never heard back from them.
I know issue one is with Amazon, and I've already brought it to their attention for the millionth time about delivering to the wrong address.
My question is, what would you do next with the neighbor? It's very obvious they are opening these packages that are mis-delivered and keeping them or tossing them. Yes, it's not a huge issue and I can contact Amazon for a refund but it's still annoying how brazen they are.
If it happened again and I called our city's PD, they actually would probably come out, but I think that is taking it too far.
So TexAgs, let it go and let the neighbors continue to be thieves or what?
