That's legit. My kinda people. When my grandma could make more she would make them for the whole block. But with age the number has gone down to enough for the family events and maybe if I am helpful a dozen for me to kidnap before my aunts know there was extra.
It's pretty awesome. She and her sister round up her daughter's friends and cousins and everyone participates. Then on Christmas eve, the kitchen is full of big pots and you just open them up and get what you want.
It's been awesome having them as neighbors. We went to their daughter's quinceanera and they had us sit at the family table since we didn't know anyone else. It was amazing. At their older daughter's event, they all drank so much they had to have a 14 year old drive them home, so this time we all went in a limo.
I now drink Sol beer with lime and beer salt too. I love learning their traditions and they love learning the French ones I've brought from my mom. They're just really good people.
