Frenchy's is pretty good stuff if you don't mind the 5th Ward.

Also Top Notch in Austin known for their burgers but their fried chicken is outstanding.

I haven't/won't eat at a Church's or KFC. Haven't in about 12 years. I will skip many meals in a row before eating at either one of these establishments.

The only thing I will eat at Popeye's is their popcorn shrimp and side dishes. See #2 about chicken.

Is Golden Chick still around? Used to go to the one in Georgetown. Had the best chicken tenders for a fast food place.

Popeyes makes the best chicken when they remember to actually make chicken.

While Chick-fil-A is, in fact, fried chicken I don't put it in the Fried Chicken category with KFC or Popeyes.

Popeye's, for sure. Chicken Express runs a strong second, and the one in downtown Bryan has great fried catfish.

I went to school with the son of the founder. They're SUPER Vietnamese. No English allowed in their house, don't celebrate Christmas but go all out for The Feast of the Vietnamese Martyrs.

Best friend chicken I've ever had, anywhere. My mom's cooking included.
