FWIW, I've never liked his antics (even when he was known by most as host of The Apprentice). And, this thread is the first time I've said anything somewhat publicly, albeit mostly anonymously, about him, and that's only because the OP asked what people thought.

Note that the OP wasn't specifically asking for folks to try to convince everyone/others of their viewpoint. That's what the politics board is for, IMO, and that place seems to be full of people trying to convince themselves of their rightness. I have little time for that board and little desire to argue here. So, for that reason, I'm out. Godspeed.

So I grew up watching The Apprentice. I loved watching Trump challenge, remove and reward people.

So when it came time to vote I thought hard about how much I didnt want Hillary to win, how Gary had no shot in hell and our only hero was Donald.

I also talked to my dad about my worries with him. We came to this conclusion:
what would it hurt to have an outsider in there, making decisions, challenging what has been, making sure the villains are seen and rewarding the good.

I sleep well at night knowing that I made the right choice. He's accomplished a lot. And he is hilarious on Twitter trolling the Libs.

This is a truly idiotic statement. Trump fails most moral standards for the Presidency that any decent human being should have, and that has been crystal clear since long before he ever joined the race and the MSM started losing their minds over his almost daily displays of idiocy.

I have no problem lauding many of the Trump administration's policy decisions, but in terms of leadership qualities, Trump is worse than Bill Clinton (all of the moral failings and none of the natural social skills), and I never even remotely considered voting for Bill Clinton.

Your history criticism of me is somewhat valid. These days, I enjoy learning about history. But, sadly, from my younger days, history was mostly (IMO at the time) something to get through. Further, typically the 2nd history course (at A&M as well as HS) became bogged down with racial injustice to such an extent that we never really even reached studying WW1 and later. Additionally, the A&M Aerospace degree plan doesn't (at least it didn't ~30 years ago) facilitate, or even accommodate much electives. That's one reason I wish I had changed my major while still at A&M.

"Run away"...I haven't run anywhere in a long time, lol. I need to get into some kind of exercising again. For the record, I did not say the he *is* Hitler or a Hitler facsimile. I said that I think he has a Hitler complex. IMO, he has disturbing tendencies: megalomania, sometimes schizophrenia, & frequently hysterical.

At one point, I considered voting for him, just because the idea of shaking things up in DC was appealing. I'm glad I didn't vote for him, though; had I voted for him, I think I'd be feeling super guilty/ashamed about it.

Take all of that for what it's worth. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything and I didn't intend to offend anyone; I don't have time nor inclination for that. The OP asked what people thought about him and I responded with what I think. If folks get so upset about that, I think it'd be interesting for those folks to ask themselves why.
