My Dad was a bombardier on a B-17 in WW2. Bombardier sat in the nose of the plane. I got to tour one but never been up in one. After a bombing mission in Germany when they were returning to England they spotted the Bismarck and had one bomb left. He took a shot at it but missed because they had to fly so high to avoid anti-aircraft fire from the ship.
If you want to fly in one and can drop $400 bucks you can schedule to fly out of Ellington Airfield for a 30 minute ride.
