what is this "post office" to which you refer?nashvilleaggie11 said:
I won't get to see my post office worker who is constantly on her phone texting when I come in.

It seriously sucks when you are active duty military and supporting a family.
Our war fighters should never have to deal with that crap.
AFN being down sucks because it's the only English radio station here. Commissaries are closed. Exchanges are funded separably so they stay open. All active duty remain in a duty status, but if Congress doesn't allocate funds by the end of the month, there won't be a pay check. Given that, USAA has in the past said that if the government doesn't have a solution in place, USAA will offer 0% interest advance payroll loans.SPullig said:
It's not just the paycheck. I'm overseas and AFN is off the air due to it. For me it's just a minor inconvenience but for guys in a combat zone and it's one of the few "reminders of home". Hate to see if the MWR and stuff are shutdown as well.

Man I miss those days of extra paid vacation..... As it is now, I still get my fat retirement check regardless.GAC06 said:
And for all the government workers freaking out, just enjoy your paid vacation. Again.

Gets paid every 2 weeks- not on a set date. I believe her next payday is this coming Friday. Not too worried about it- but there is no upside to this for us.GAC06 said:Aston04 said:

You mean like on the 30th? Or the 15th?

I too am active duty, and I do not see how this will affect us until the end of the month, which is a week and a half way. If you have USAA, they will continue to pay you anyway. The commissary will close, but you can pretty much beat their prices for most things at Walmart anyway. This will blow over soon and we will move on, just like every other time this has happened in the past. I, for one, welcome it if it will help fix our country's problems.padreislandagfan said:bh93 said:

Has the military ever missed a check? I was in over a decade and NEVER remember pay being even A DAY late.

F you. I'm considered essential so I report to work without pay for the civilians across the nation in hopes of eventually getting paid. You have no idea how much it sucks to know a large majority of feds get to stay home (without pay) while I have to work.
But the purge works. All hail the great purge.Bruce Almighty said:

you will still get paid. Calm your britches. Everyone will get paid. It may be delayed but even furloughed employees will get back paid.chiken said:GAC06 said:
