I think instead of a cheap plastic swing you should use only one made of the highest quality hand carved hardwoods. Definitely more befitting the suburb of your choice.

BUt it has to be free range, conflict free, sustainably harvested, eco friendly, hard wood sold and assembled by a minority/female owned business.

Looks like most of the generic cheap, not in Houston, large square footage, never see it in daylight except on the weekend when not at chilis suburban neighborhoods.

Hoas are bullcrap. The swing isn't ugly and tells me a it is a family safe neighborhood whose residents potentially like to spend time in the front yard instead of the back. Friendliness has gone the way of the dodo. The HOA can go pound sand.

Find in the HOA agreement where it specifically mentions swings or GTFO.

Also, make them define "attractive/unattractive" and be specific. Or GTFO.

Here's how you handle this.

take it down, paint it a different color and put it up again.

This starts the process all over again. You took down the one they complained about, thus you can argue you "complied with their complaint".

The keep rinsing and repeating.
