Well, after I had to get a new one because I lost my original (after 24 years) in Las Vegas...

I lost mine in the dirty goo from cleaning my gutters. I had to dig through a trashcan full of mud and dead soggy leaves to find it. And thank heavens I hadn't emptied into the dumpster!

As soon as I get back from graduation, I'm sending mine in.

There HAS to be a story here....

I took mine to the Balfour plant in Austin where they are made. Walked in, they sized me. Filled out paper work. Had it back via UPS in 3 weeks.

What sucks is I have no story at all for it.

I was there for work. I got ready in the morning and SWEAR I had it on. But when I got to the rental car I didn't. Retraced all my steps and nothing.

I'd gained weight and was wearing it on my pinkie finger because it fit there...sort of.

I assume it slipped off somewhere along the way.

Either that, or one of the 20 hookers stole it.

I would've guessed that it got lost in the stripper...

That would be the story I'd go with.

I don't think they actually melt the ring down and give you a new one, but they do clean it up and get rid of all the character.

Accurate answers to most Aggie Ring resizing and repair questions can be found at our faq at tx.ag/rrrfaq.

A couple of key points:

- A ring typically will not be recast (remade) unless you are going up or down more than two sizes OR if you have previously resized the ring twice already.

- By default, Balfour will clean it up, smooth out the dings, and generally return it to a condition that is almost like new. But if you don't want that because you think the dings give it character, just say so, and it will be returned as-is, just resized.
