Couldn't it have been from traffic going the opposite direction? I haven't been on 59 in years, so I don't recall how wide the median is. As I recall, at some points, it's super wide while in other parts, it's only a couple of stripes separated by asphalt.

Another idea...meteorite?

I was next to the wall that is along the express lane. Suppose it could have been from a car there but I would think that it would have hit the wall. Plus traffic was moving pretty slow in both directions. Wouldn't think a projectile coming from the other way would have had the velocity to do that.

I got stuck next to a car transport once on I-10 and gravel was raining down from all the tires of all the cars up on the racks. Got a nice big crack in the windshield of my then-brand new truck. I'm sure if it had hit a side window it would have looked like Tandy's.

It's possible someone intentionally tossed something at his window in passing, but it could've been all sorts of debris.

Ok, on closer inspection of the photo, it had to have been at least a 9mm round to make that kind of an impact. Possibly a military style assault weapon.

Incorrect, sir. Rifles are either AR-15's or "military style assault weapons." Some variations on said phrase allowed.

The 9mm part was drawing upon my own technical expertise as someone who's seen a lot of broken glass.

Similar thing happened to my wife and I 9-10 yrs ago except the window actually busted out all over the drivers side. We were finding little glass pebbles for months. Assumed rock but can't figure out where it could have come from.
