I have had excellent fries from both five guys and in and out. It is all about if the worker bees give a damn or not. Honestly most of the time McDonald's fries suck when I get them. Chick-fil-A's are great as long as they don't get cold, fully agree with that. Love em with the smoky Chick-fil-A sauce.

Five Guys are great as long as you don't leave them in the bag. If you get the order to go and they stay in the bag for a while, they will steam themselves and lose their crispness.

I have a strong preference for raw-cut, skin on homemade style fries. All those additives, flavorings, pre-frying, freezing, etc may taste good, but I don't find that preferable personally. Cut up the raw potatoes and throw them in the oil until crispy at the edges. Done. Perfect.
