My mother in law found this on the doorstep waiting for me when I got back from my yearly mini-vacation to New York:

Just joking about the living things part.

I did however wrap eight items individually with instructions to open them in a certain order, you know, to prolong the frivolity. It should be a reasonable mix of humorous and useful items. I can't wait to see the reaction here.

I'm not sure what number the wine bottle was, but it definitely decided to open itself...

Was it shipped by air?

A non-pressurized plane (like for cargo) could have easily popped a cork if it wasn't screwcap.

It only had to go from Fort Worth to Dallas, so I highly doubt air was involved. I guess it got dropped at some point.

It was in a plastic bag on my doorstep bc the box was too wet to contain everything. I started to pull everything out and it's covered in wine, so I laid it out on the stove with the hope that it will be dry when I get home. Everything is still wrapped, lulz. So will see...?

You're not out of line - the deadline isn't until the 20th.

Good news / bad news.

Bad news: Of the 9 gifts received, 2 survived.
Bad news2: One of those two surviving items was a turkey baster.

Good news: Most of the items were weird as sh/t anyway.

I had the kid's band concert last night and didn't have time to upload pics before the show and I got home after my old man bedtime..

That being said, I had a box with quite the bounty waiting when I got home:



We have a fan/light combo for tent camping, a three-man slingshot, Monty Python's "The Meaning of Life" on blu-ray, a Jason Boland live album, Star Wars socks.....


...and a creepy mask that scared the Bony Dog
