I had a shot of Malort at a bar in Dallas a few weeks ago, I think people way overblow how bad it tastes. But that is all part of the fun. If you can drink Fernet and other bitter aperitifs it's not much worse.

Seeing this made me think of my work trip to Czech Republic and I got talked into having a shot of this ****:

My wife's family came back from a trip to Europe and brought back a few of those. I so rarely have plum that my only comparison is like, if you drank kolache-flavored everclear.

Tastes like how I imagine paint thinner tasting.

Did you have COVID at any point and did it cause you to lose your taste?

Jeppsons is not good. Let's be clear about that. But people wayyyy overreact to join and try to be part of the meme. I am convinced of this.

I did, and it did, but it is back to normal.
My wife tried it too. She likes wine and fizzy drinks, but does not like beer or spirits at all. She was not offended by the Malorts either. She didn't like it, but didn't think it was that bad.

I am a big Laphroaig fan and I feel like it would be more offensive to people than the Jeppson's Malort.

I would rather drink any decent Scotch than Malort. Laphroaig makes some damn fine whiskies IMO.

Yep. Laphroaig tastes like a used bandaid you found under the leaves of a damp forest floor. But in a good way.
