Not to women he didn't.

You're missing the point.

He was 68-1 his lasr 2 years man. Lol

Shaq only played 2 years in HS?

Or was that his jr and sr year? what about his fish and soph years. Did he lose games then...how about middle school, which is the age that this stupid discussion started about?

You brought up all these losses that even shaq took.

You left out 2 years of HS.

Wasting your time Jacque. These politically correct morons can't accept this truth. Apparently it's mysogenistic.
it has nothing to do with political correctness!

It is absolutely misogynistic, not to mention downright idiotic, to claim that a 14 year old male child who's been playing a game for a few years against other children would stand a shadow of a chance against grown women in their prime who've worked their way to the top of their sport and compete daily against similarly talented and dedicated grown women.

A few years? Seriously? Top notch basketball talent in jr has more than a few years under its belt.

There is a 6-11 25lb power forward in Florida right now. 14. Is there any way a shot gets to the rim with him in the lane?
so your evidence is 1 lanky kid in the country? what kind of talent has he played against? How is he going to get to the rim if he never gets the ball in the first place, or can't dribble it for more than 6 inches without it being taken away from him?

You think he can just carry it over his head across the court?

So I take it you haven't bothered as part of this to look up any of the top jr high kids in the country.

What are you debating this based on? Just the jr high kids you know?

Are all those top jr high kids on the same team?
No. But it would hardly be fair to take a pro team of the absolute best women without compiling SOME form of similar all star team for boys. At least statewide.

That's the top 15 guys in jr high ball right now. Match them up against the top 15 women in the WNBA.

How many shots in the lane do the women get up against the 7 footer? How many defensive boards?

Yup. I think a very good AAU team consisting of 14 year olds could probably beat a WNBA team. As I said before, a select boys soccer team from SoCal consisting of 14-16 year olds beat Mia Hamm's USWNT easily, and those are the best women in the country.

They could put three guys on the court 6-10 or above, including a seven footer. The two 6-10 guys would be bruisers.

The kid from NJ pushing the ball...he can dunk btw (unlike any guard in the WNBA)...

I think you have to recognize that if you take the top women and the top 14 year old boys, the boys win.

I always love whenever someone/team is dominant in their lower rung on the totem pole sport and people start questioning if they could compete with male professionals. Whether it's Alabama in college football, the USWNT in women's soccer, Kentucky in College Basketball, or Ronda in Women's UFC, someone always seems to ask the question. The answer is always no, not even close, not even the worst teams, or in Ronda's case, worst UFC fighter. In the years of Mia Hamm's USWNT, they lost to a select team of Southern California teenagers all around 14-16 years old by a score of 6-0. Or how about Billie Jean King in her prime and regarded as one of the best female tennis players ever, needing 3 sets and the ability to use the doubles lines (a HUGE advantage) to beat an out of shape 50 year old former professional tennis player? How did Michelle Wie fair on the men's tour? Enough with the ridiculous comparisons. Ronda is great, but there is no way she could compete with men in the highest level of competition. She could potentially be killed, if that was allowed to happen.

Yep. At one point early in their careers Serena and Venus Williams claimed they could beat any man ranked under 200 world wide in tennis. A man, ranked in the 240's or so, took them up on their challenge, and beat them both back to back.

Princeton plays fundamental basketball. Kentucky has athletes. At some point athleticism and size just win out.

Maya Moore is a 6-0 forward. Now...she'd be giving 10 inches to the kid from Florida. Candace Parker, who might play center, would give up almost as much to the 7 footer.

And this isn't a situation like Barkley where Moore could use her body to clear space. She's getting cleared. Clear out of the lane.

By the way, there's a reason why someone like Griner is good in the WNBA. It's because she's physically imposing.

Women that are physically imposing, taller, stronger, dominate. There's just not as many of them. The ability of guys in the NBA to physically dominate is much harder. They're all tall. Strong.

14 year old kids at the top level have been playing a while. And it's not just that they're physically more gifted. They are VASTLY physically more gifted.

One reason the WNBA is such a horribly ****ty basketball product is the complete absence of athleticism. It's what allows the rare athlete to excel.

These women wouldn't be on a court with their equals. They would be on a court playing against a team of 12 young men, all of whom have superior athleticism to the most dominant athlete in their sport.

That's the top 15 guys in jr high ball right now. Match them up against the top 15 women in the WNBA.

How many shots in the lane do the women get up against the 7 footer? How many defensive boards?

Girls play fundamental basketball. The WNBA chicks would sit on the perimeter and laugh their ass off passing the ball back and forth while those jr high kids run around trying to block the ball.

Btw, my kids went to Brock. Their girls team could and did play competitively with their boys team (I know several guys from the boys team)....and both teams won state several years in a row. Fundamentals can **** with athleticism quite a lot.

The Spurs have shown this over the years in the NBA.

They're going to get no offensive boards. Maybe not many defensive. The jr guards can pick them up at half court. Passing lanes will close. Fast.

The Spurs, as you know, are men.

Yep...and the Spurs, playing fundamental basketball with athletes that weren't as good as their opponents, absolutely destroyed them to win a championship...

They still have NBA size and speed. My word, man.

Who does?
The spurs. They're NBA players. They have NBA length. And speed.

Ok...that was my point. The Heat, with their NBA speed and height and stuff looked clueless...
They were playing another NBA team! The Heat, with a broken PG, didn't have nearly the athletic advantage these boys would have. Again, the MOST athletic player in the ENTIRE WNBA would be smaller and less athletic than at least 4 boys on this team. And she might be taller than the guards but guess what? They can blow right by her and dunk over her bony ass.

The biggest, thickest woman on the court would get bodied out of the lane every time down the court.

So, your conjecture is that an All Star team of 13-14 y/o boys could beat a team of 21-30 y/o female professional basketball players because they're big and athletic? Without taking into account the experience level of the WNBA chicks?
I'll say it. Yes, an all-star team of boys 13-14 y/o could beat a WNBA team, although it would be close. As I have already explained, such a feat is not unprecedented in sports, and I think you are seriously downplaying how much a factor size and athleticism play in the game of basketball. Learning fundamentals like boxing out is great and all, but it doesn't matter much if the person you are boxing out is 8 inches taller and jumps 10 inches higher. At 14 years old, Lebron James, regarded as one of the best prospects in the country at that time, would have EASILY been the best player in the WNBA. He averaged 21 and 6 as a freshman in high school and won a state title going 27-0, and there are kids with similar stories nearly every year.

Well, considering we'll never see it happen, neither one of us can prove we're right.

So, I guess you'll have to be content with thinking you won an Internet argument...

Next, you can tell everyone how Mayweather would destroy Ali because he's so much faster and doesn't have Parkinson's...
