Texas A&M adds former LSU OL Tyree Adams via transfer portal

Former Louisiana State offensive lineman Tyree Adams has announced his intentions to transfer to Texas A&M. At 6-foot-7 and 310 pounds, Adams comes to Aggieland with two years of eligibility remaining after making nine starts at tackle for the Tigers in 2025.

The Maroon Goons have made a portal addition today as former LSU OL Tyree Adams has crossed the Sabine River for a future in Aggieland.

The 6-foot-7, 310-pounder is a native of Marrero, La., where he prepped at St. Augustine HS.

As a Tiger, Adams appeared in 19 games over the course of three seasons with 11 starts at tackle, nine of which came this past fall. He took a redshirt in 2023, so he arrives in College Station with two years of eligibility remaining. Lauded for his prototypical wingspan and athletic frame, Adams will provide an experienced presence against SEC pass rushers — something the Aggies lacked heading into 2026.

Overall, he’s the 10th addition for Mike Elko & Co. in this transfer portal cycle.

Well they were 124th in rushing offense and 94th in sacks allowed. Now football is a team sport, they had a lot of turmoil, but....

You mean the one with a statue of a QB and a lame duck coach? How many TD's are OL required to score? We have better coaches, hoss.

Not impressed with the LSU OL this year. Pass protect or rushing attack. Is there anything on tape that makes this a good addition? LSU fans I'd imagine would say something like "good luck, lol"

Addazio's OL was pretty horrible in 2023. 2024 was much better, and 2025 was even better than that. I like to think our staff know what they're doing.

LSU run game has nothing to do with any individual players talent. They just do not say "hey yall go block somebody." They are coached, sometimes they are coached poorly. Techniques etc. Coaching has more to do with LSU problems than talent. I coached for years. I know Elko can evaluate players way better than me. If he wants them he sees what they can be.

Interesting that we seem to be picking up a lot more power 4 conference guys this year, rather than guys from small schools. Picking up people from teams we played last year is always intriguing to me because it suggests we saw something on tape or heard something from the guys who lined up against them. Worked pretty well with Craver last year ...

Good pick up. Now Cushing just needs to retrain them from what they were doing at lsu. And I think that;s why Elko went and got his commitment.

Alabama couldn't run the ball with 4-5 star RBs and OL. Coaching is relevant. The three OLs we signed are physical specimens with an SEC pedigree. We should be elated. Elko is addressing problems as usual. Last year we needed playmaking WRs, TEs and DL depth. This year we need OLs, a kicker, LBs, a replacement for KC and DL depth. All are being addressed. My guess is we could sign Cam Coleman and some would respond "is he really what we need?"

this is another great offensive line addition. a guy with sec experience and upside potential. cushing is a really good technician/ teacher. if they have the talent i am confident in his ability to get the most out of them.

look how much our offensive line improved from 2023 to 2024 with basically the same cast. coaching matters at this level.

Reports are that Ohio State, Oregon and Ole Miss were trying to get him too.
He had a high ankle sprain in Oct this year that limited play, but he sounds like a good get.
