If you ever go back to La Posada make sure to have lunch at El Meson de San Agustine. It's a block over from the hotel on the other side of the church. Other good places include Palenque Grill, Danny's, Tacos Villa, Taco Palenque. People rag on Laredo but the food is pretty damn good.

One of my engineers is on a 2 week cross country Griswald style trips with that place being the destination.

I lived just south of there in Medford for 5 years. Eugene for 3.

You should make up an excuse to go back! You really can't beat the beauty of the area and all the outdoors stuff to do.

I booked another trip to go Oregon in August but I'll just be in Portland. I really should find some other places to go but I like it there a lot and have a ton of buddies there.


I bet your engineer is gonna have some kick ass photos to share on his trip!

Concur and the good food is the reason for the high obesity rates. It's great if you visit and eat there but not good if you live there. If I remember correcly, El Meson is a tiny place.
