Not a steakhouse but Lonesome Dove in Ft. Worth offers some truely incredible food and really hits the mark on their steaks.

But honestly it is hard to beat the steaks I cook at the house. Infrared grill and high quality meat FTW

The prices and portion sizes were good at that place but the steaks weren't anything special.

Perini ranch in Buffalo Gap (Abilene) and Lonesome Dove in Fort Worth are my favorites.

Leona General Store in Leona, Tx. Taken many people there with the understanding that if its not the best steak they've ever had, I buy. I haven't paid the check yet. Great homemade cobblers & pies for dessert, too.

Years ago Zentner's Daughter in San Angelo would be towards the top of my list but heard it's gone downhill

I was extremely disappointed in my only visit to Vic & Anthony's. Ate at the bar because they were an hour late with our reserved table and sent back a steak for thee first and only time in my life. Very out of the ordinary from any other review I've ever heard of. I'll try it again.

While Texas claims to be the King of Beef, I have to crown Chicago as the King of Steakhouses. So many fantastic options, both old school and new.

Eat at killens once every couple of months. Been all over and still have not found a steak better.

Both Killen's steak house and BBQ place (separate restaurants) are killer. JJWatt goes to the BBQ place (after they've sold out and closed) to have steaks brought to him from the steak house so he can enjoy them without distraction. Article recently in the Chronicle. Ronnie Killen is doing.some serious eats when it comes to BBQ and steaks.

I was unbelievably underwhelmed at the Big Texan.

Although I haven't been there, I always hear about Bob's everywhere I go. Even people outside of Texas ask me about Bob's. It's also always at the top of those Best (fill in) lists that In flight mags have onboard. That and the best Maxillary Surgeons in the country.

Beveled's mom's steaks are damn good. You get a happy ending and everything

Cattle Exchange in Canadian is pretty good.

Bohanan's is the best I have had in Texas. Chicago chop house in Chicago is the best in America though.
