I'm talking about the legal arrangement, not the belief that someone or something is reliable, good, honest, effective, etc.

Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Nothing wrong with ensuring your familial assets and inheritances are protected. Plus it is better to know what you'll be responsible for in the event of a split up.

All I took into my marriage was student loans.

If you love one another, then signing a prenup shouldn't be a big deal. Theoretically, it never would be invoked.

car insurance covers your ass and protects you in the event of a wreck. Pre-nups do the same in the event of a divorce.

I thought I made that point pretty clear.

If you go into it expecting it may not work out, you're doomed from the start. You've already admitted quitting is an option. When things get hard or stale, it's easy to quit.

I'm not saying there is never a case for divorce, but if you're not diving in headfirst to start, you're doing it wrong.

You know, sometimes it is the other person that walks away without giving you a choice. I'd like to have my sht protected in the event the wife decides to just up at leave one day without so much as a warning.

Why do so many people think that those that want pre-nups are going into marriage thinking of an escape plan. Damn near everyone I know that has pre-nups are head over heels for their SO. But they aren't dumb enough to leave their assets exposed in the event the SO decides to walk away.

Placing a 50/50 bet on half your sh*t that you won't get divorced.

I remember the days when wedding vows used to mean something. Kids these days just get a prenup.

Neither of us went into the marriage with anything. We were dirt poor so no prenup

Don't have one. Money is so far tucked away only I know where to find so won't matter if it gets to that stage anyway....
