Not me. Walked in with neck and back pain, walked out needing physical therapy and injections in my back. It took years to undo the damage.

I never believed in them myself, but several weeks ago I was experiencing the worst neck pain of my life (an old injury). I finally broke down and saw one because I couldn't even lift my baby or feed her because the pain was too much. One 30-minute visit and I was almost good as new!

Fake Doctors

I'm glad they worked for you guys. Mine was a horrible experience. It worked at first, then all of a sudden I couldn't move.

Small hint, a DO (an actual medical doctor) can do all of the same stuff AND find real problems.

Once every couple of years a disc in my neck slips out and the pain is unbearable. When I was younger id gut it out and eventually a week or so later it would slip back in. Nowadays I immediately get adjusted and I'm good as new the following day. I believe in chiropractic healing at least for my condition.

Look chiro doesn't work on everyone but answer me this question. If you dislocate something wouldn't you want it relocated? You can't rehab a dislocated anything until it's put back where it's supposed to be. When a disc slips and impinges a nerve the one of the only ways to stop that pain and begin the healing process is to get that nerve pressure released.

Once again like everything different treatment work differently for individuals.

Dislocate what exactly? I sure as hell am not going to a chiro if I dislocate anything. If you are talking about the chiropractic subluxation then I ask you to show me a single study that proves their existence.

Trust them over a real doc any day of week.

Talk to any neurologist about what they have had to deal with from chiropractors.

It is entirely possible that those who have "success" with regular visits to the chiropractor are simply experiencing the placebo effect.

Its actually shown to have better results compared to placebo based on patient surveys, but similar efficacy to massage therapy and sham chiropractic therapy (essentially someone who pretends to be performing chiropractic techniques).

How are chiropractors as effective as pretend chiropractors but more effective than placebos?

Because the chiropractic "placebo" is more effective than the traditional placebo (sugar pill).

Specifically for lower back pain, of course.

I went to one for a couple of visits and my medical friends threw a fit. At that point, I wasn't going back anyway.

The guy was rude. He told me he was going to work on my back, but didn't warn me that he was going to put all of his 250+ lbs of weight on it while I was laying down. That hurt like crazy.

I did feel a little better the next morning and for a few more days, but then it started hurting more a day or two before my next visit. I went back and told him to not pop my back again. This time, the fat jerk JUMPED on my back. Both of his feet off the ground (which is quite amazing for a man of his size).

I never went back. I even heard from my friend that referred me that he laughingly told her I was a wimp because I grunted when he popped my back. Anytime someone jumps on your back by surprise, it's going to knock the air of you and you'll make a noise. I'm not sure why that's funny a so-called medical professional. I doubt you even have doctor-patient privileges since they're not legit.

A doctorate does not grant you the title of physician.

There are some serious stupid chiros out there. And there are some that know their limits and use some common sense with what their "therapy" can accomplish and what it can't. I even know of an orthopedic group that refers to a chiropractic group regularly (and the chiros refer to the orthos).

There's some legitimacy to it....and a whole lot of stupid as well.
