Anybody remember the 97 Rock dj named Lauren Valley (sp?)... back in the 80's. Loved her voice, loved the way she said '97 Rock' for some reason. Anyone know what she is doing now, where she went after 97 Rock?

97 Rock also had Hanna Storm for a while.

She looked GREAT in black leather. Hard to believe seeing her now.

Rock radio in Houston is terrible now. Rock 101 has its moments but then they play Rush and have too many commercials... I think its 40 minutes of music. 94.5 is a joke of a alternative station. All they play is that pop rock crap ie. sum 41, 3 doors down, new Creed stuff etc. Thats the only two choices you have, crappy.

Somewhere in the deep recesses of an old file cabinet I think I still have a 97 Rock bumper sticker that says, "The Who" on it.

I have an old 97 Rock sticker on a case full of old cassettes. Great station. Moby and Matthews in the mornings.

I don't know if many of you remember a Houston DJ called "Catfish", but he was Lauren's husband. They left Houston after a minor implosion at Z-107 and moved to San Antonio, where Catfish programmed KZEP for a while. Last I heard, they were both in St. Louis.

You think Houston is bad, try LA! A city with that many people and I think they only have 1 decent station!!!

I was surprised at how "ordinary" radio was in NYC. I am no fan of Stern, so I listened to Imus quite a bit. But it seems that after the morning shows are over, it gets very generic.
