Just bought an Asus and I love it. Fast with great display. Get the keyboard attachment and you can get about 15+ hrs of use.

Tagguy - I looked at the Asus and it looked pretty neat! Looks like a 32GB asus is the same as a 16GB note

I have a Kindle Fire HD and it's pretty awesome for how cheap it is. The coolest feature is that you can hook it up to your TV for streaming off of Netflix, Amazon Instant, etc.

Yep. I use the hell out of mine and can go all day. Its great.

My dad just replaced his with one like mine the same day. He casually uses his and can go for several days on a charge.

If you have a specific use in mind, choose carefully. Capabilities and available apps vary. (about 75% of what I use my iPad for involves Filemaker Go, which is exclusive to iPad and iPhone) Get all the capacity you can afford. Cellular capability is a big plus but is not for everyone. If you're just using it for browsing, ebooks, email, music, movies and maybe some games, just pick the shiniest toy on the shelf. It will be obsolete in six months anyway.

If you are considering iPad, strongly consider the mini. Much better value than the iPad4 and it charges faster.
