I don't like things around my neck that can be pulled tight. Hell, I live in Colorado and won't wear a turtleneck. I just really don't see the point in ties.

If I was a guy I wouldn't be able to wear them. I can't wear turtle necks or those choker necklaces (wouldn't want to anyway).

I just JUST talking about Mitch about 3 minutes ago.
Ties are the worst thing ever. I only wear one maybe 5-10 times per year.
Being self-employed means never having to wear a tie. I can't remember the time I wore one.
Being employed means you sometimes have to wear a tie. It's one of those silly things you just have to get used to.
I like wearing ties. Mon-Thur, all year long.
I'm a girl so thankfully i don't have to worry about this, but if I had to work in a place I had to wear full business attire I'd off myself.
I refuse to wear a tie without a sports coat or suit.
I refused to wear a tie, but they aren't required so it really didn't matter...
One or twice a year, if I can't avoid it.

Very good philosophy
Couple times a year for only a few hours. Couldn't imagine wearing one every day. When I do have to its a bowtie. Hate neckties.

Actually it really does matter. If you're happy being average and not memorable, don't wear a tie.

Never used to be a fan of wearing them without suits...until this year, you are recognized more, and they add something more to the standard male attire.

Whoever decided to put a piece of cloth around their neck, invent a funny knot for it and call it formal was an idiot. I wish I could meet this person so I could punch them in the face.
One of the greatest perks to changing careers was because I do not have to wear a stupid tie everyday. In my old job, it was required even though the vast majority of my time was spent over the phone. What an uncomfortable waste.
