Posting this on general was a mistake.

Sending it to the news stations would not be.

I keep thinking of "Passion Cove" when I read the thread title.

Cinemax - I loved having extended cable when I was growing up.

Sending it to a news station implies the owner is doing something wrong. Oter than the poor taste in sending the email, theyhave done nothing wrong.

Yeah, other than being grotesquely insulting...

i think the other part of the story is...

the bride actually discussed this kind of scenario with the venue when she booked the place, and the venue (wanting the business) responded with "we can try and work something out if that happens". then the bride realized it would be better to have it in may, instead of march. so the bride began discussing alternative situatioans/solutions with the venue (all for the sake of it hoping to get changed to may). when the bride realized this wasnt going to work, she tried to "guilt" the venue into getting her way.

yes, the response from the venue may have been "harsh", but i do feel like the bride tried putting the venue in an impossible situation.

This sort of reminds me of the military couple in Dallas (Frisco) whose home was foreclosed on because the stateside wife refused to open her mail.

Tough titty said the kitty.

I have worked with soldiers that got last minute notice that they were getting deployed and did not have a chance to have their weddings before deployment and ended up coming home with missing limb

This part is irrational and weird

So are you trying to say that bride is lying about her husband having to deploy overseas, so she can have the wedding in May, of 2012? Okay.....

Or would it make more sense to realize they were only looking to not lose all their money, with the stipulation they schedule for another date, and still pay full price for that date?

the owner is going by the contract so technically they are doing nothing wrong

but if this hits the news they are going to get crucified over their comments about soldiers coming back missing limbs and burned etc

And can you believe it? Pretentious wedding vendors? Shocker.

Wow! Some of you folks are complete dumbasses. Did anyone say they should be treated any differently? No. They asked for their money back and knew there was a possibility that wouldn't happen.

A simple "I'm sorry this worked out this way for you but we will be unable to refund your money" would do. Hell, for good measure why not throw out something like...."May is one of our busiest times but we will do our best to accommodate you on another date during a non peak time period but no promises".

It is about professional courtesy and this effing lady should be fired. I know I wouldn't hire her belligerent ass. You dumbasses that think this is OK and blame everything on the woman inquiring about a refund are idiots. Good luck in life with that attitude.

Is there a chance the "missing limbs" part was added to the email that was actually received?

There is always a chance things get added, that is why people get sued.

methinks a marine is a type of soldier

If he was supposed to be deployed in April why would she have moved the wedding to May?

May 2012 when he returns. Sorry if I hit a nerve with the "soldier" description. No ill intent meant. I did not have the honor of serving.

Is that really the issue? I think they are well within their rights but methinks "Tina" needs to get laid. At the very least, she could use a special "stocking stuffer".

My apologies. I just didn't see any reason for the response from the venue.

Yes, let's lump the entire USMC in this ordeal.
quote:
I can only wonder what your commander would think of your actions

I have a great idea...Why don't we share emails with her commanding officer and your boss and see who wins. I'm certain her commanding officer has more important matters to deal with but I imagine your boss would be very interested in how you treat potential clients. Especially those that have a network like the United States Marine Corps not to mention the entire Armed Forces. Poor business decision on Tina's behalf. Like I said, she doesn't have to give the money back (no one is saying that). However, is a little common decency too much to ask? Apparently, so.

I wrote Tina this morning, and she was very quick with getting back to me. Email response from Tina:

quote:
You do not have all of the facts in this situation or the emails leading up to my response. When the truth and the facts are made public everyone including yourself will see I am not in the wrong in this situation. Carol was not honest with me and is not being honest with anyone as she is spreading false rumors around to gain sympathy.

I am taking legal action in this matter so the truth can be told.

I know that you are innocent in this situation as you do not have all the facts so I do not blame you for sending this email.

Blessings,

Tina
