Hey guys, I need some help. I have lived in Houston TX my entire life with the exception of College Station for 5 years. (gig,em 5th yr senior!) I just accepted a job with a new company and they are moving me to Pampa TX. Does anyone have any advice about the area? restuarants? bars? things to do? How are the people? hunting areas? areas to stay away from?(from what i have read already the North East side of the city is nicest area to live in) nice apartments? workout gyms, if any?
Let me know what you guys think. I appreciate all the help.

Yeah, head over to the panhandle board. I was raised in Dumas but don't really know anything about Pampa.

Very true and get ready for a constant wind of around 15-30 mph basically everyday.

Windy days in the panhandle are those when winds go upwards of 30-40mph everything else is just normal.

If you get really bored, drive 15 miles to a little town called Lefors, population 559. Then you'll know just how bad life can get. My parents graduated HS from there and my first two years were spent there.

Also get ready for painful cold considering you're still in Texas. Snow drifts and wind galore. If you hunt, there's plenty of places to go for white tail and muleys. Make sure you take a trip to Palo Duro Canyon and go caving.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone refer to Pampa as a "city".

We played Lefors in 6 man football.

Pampa isn't THAT bad. If you're looking for nightlife, you'll be better served making the 45 mile drive to Amarillo.

I grew up in Pampa and still have parents and sisters living there.

North east side has the best homes and schools.

It's not a bad little town, if you like little towns.

If you're single, DO NOT, I REPEAT, NO NOT marry into the local population unless you can confirm they have a college degree and have lived on their own for at least five years. Otherwise, you're gonna get a dumb biatch that will just get fat as a house and do nothing but make your life misery, or you will get a the hometown sloot that will divorce you in less than three years and take half of what little you have.
