Hey I need to go to UTSA this Friday, was wondering how long it will take from College Station. What is the fastest route? I heard the one on googlemaps is a no-go.

Thanks!

flush yourself down the toilet & you'll come out in the riverwalk.

takes about an hour.

if you're going to UTSA, you're going to the far side of SA.

if you arrive around rush hour, avoid 1604. you should take 35 to 410. Take 410 past the airport to I-10W.

if you arrive any other time, take 35 to 1604 around the north side of town and the UTSA exit is the first or second one after you pass I-10.

Might be harder to follow, but in my experiences is a better way, is 21 to Bastrop, get on 304 and ride it to 10, then 10 into SA

but 21 to 35 works well too

Don't go this route. Last time my friend tried this he ended up in the Rio Grande in Laredo.

CS to Bastrop. Bastrop to San Marcos. Take 35 South. To get to UTSA, I'd take 46 in New Braunfels to I-10 in Boerne and then cut south to 1604. You will miss traffic that way.

When you get to UTSA the fat unattractive people ARE the students so don't be alarmed that fat ugly people have taken over the campus.

to make it easier on you. 47 to 21. 21 jogs in bastrop. so as you come into bastrop make sure that you are in the left lane. 21 becomes a highway again. exit for Highway 21. there is a Jack in the Box on the right hand side. Follow til 80. Take 80 to 35 and go from there. 3 hrs unless you get caught speeding or get stuck behind someone slow. btw 410 is under construction near the airport. but then so is 1604 between 35 and 10 on the north west side. so i would go down 35 to 10 and then head towards El Paso on 10. and then follow the signs up onto 1604 and it is the first exit if i'm not mistaken. the next exit is kyle seale parkway. so if you get to kyle seale parkway just u-turn and it will be on your right.

Or if you feel adventurous you could go 21 to 77 to 10W to the NW side of SA and 1604

I've only gone 21 to San Marcos, 35 into San Antonio.
21 from Bastrop to San Marcos is a crappy two lane highway with only a short part at US183 that's four lanes (just enough to pass a handful of cars)

I live very near utsa now. Just got back from out of town and I don't recall any construction on 1604 west of 35. But expect traffic pretty much everywhere at 'rush hour' times. I would just suck it up and take 1604. Then take any of the next three or more exits after I-10 but the first one is probably the one you want. Read the signs.

THIS, but don't tell anyone else about it.

fido pretty well nailed it ... plus you get to go through a couple of great little towns, NB and Boerne.

Parking at UTSA is another issue. Arrive at least 30-45 minutes early and plan on a significant hike to the building you need. Typical of most college campuses.

This route is almost as dangerous as take hwy 21, the difference is you have to choose to go this route hwy 21 can't be avoided. DO NOT GO THISD WAY. 46 between loop 337 and 281 is bad esp if it is around when Smithson Valley is starting class or getting out.

Always take 1604W once you get into town, even during rush hour. 410 will be just as or more clogged than 1604.

I would take 21 to bastrop then 20 to 86 into luling , catch I 10 and then I guess thats E Commerce? Won't take 2 1/2 hours at most unless you drive like grandma. Its an odd sounding way but it is fast.

60s to 50s to 390w to 1948(i think)s to 290 to 237 continue on 159 to 609 to I10

this is the way i used to go to seguin from CS, it's maybe 20 minutes longer than taking 21 to 123, but it's a much prettier drive.

it'll take less than 3 hours and it's a beautiful drive until you get to I10.

they may be done with the construction on 1604. it has been a few weeks since i've been through there. though they were working between the east and west bound lanes and it looked like one of those projects that will take forever to complete.

Also has the added benefit of being able to stop at City Market in Luling, to get the best BBQ in the world.
