I don't see why it should be off limits to criticize something you can't do.

I can come up with my own criteria for what constitutes competence in any number of subjects, and the development of that criteria doesn't necessarily have to be predicated on my own experience in that subject.



I can't play basketball very well, but I can say without a doubt that a guy like Josh Lomers is a bad basketball player. I don't have to compare him to myself to reach this conclusion, I can judge him on a wide number of other criteria.

So I guess if I paid to have my transmission rebuilt and it sucked, I'd have no right to criticize b/c I couldn't have done it myself. Riiiiiight.


Oh, and Knox-bashing isn't unique to TexAgs. My hosts were making fun of Knox the first time I spent a night on campus, long before TA or most of the www was around. TexAgs just takes it to a higher form.

I have some ideas, but no photoshop.

BJ Holmes and Deandre as the couple in American Gothic, but with BJ as the (taller) farmer. Reed Arena replacing the house in the background.

Napolean Crossing the St. Bernard with Turgeon's face photoshopped over Napoleon's and a ghostly image of Gillispie in the background sky, and Reveille running along at the horse's feet.

Of course, the famous scene from the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, but with Acie Law as Adam and Gillispie as God, and reveille looking over them in the background. And all five yell leaders in the foreground, bottom right.



I think perhaps the ultimate irony would be to Knox Newman's Vir Heroicus Sublimis.

I'm guessing most of us can actually paint better than Knox. When I first got to A&M I thought his paintings were submitals from a local grade school for some kind of art contest...honestly. I'm guessing Knox won the contest.
