1.) You're only required to put the cue ball behind the break line and aim forward if someone scratches ON THE BREAK. All other scratches are ball in hand scratches, which means you can put the ball anywhere, and shoot in any direction.
2.) Its a scratch if you don't hit your own ball type first, if you jump the ball off the table, if you dont hit any balls at all, or if none of your balls nor the cue ball makes contact with the wall. Pocketing the cue ball isnt the only way to scratch.
3.) The game is not over if someone scratches while shooting at the 8 ball, unless they scratch while simultaneously POCKETING the 8 ball.
4.) If you don't knock at least 4 balls into the wall on your break (or pocket at least 1), I can call a misbreak.
If you play by stupid house rules and insist that people who know the actual rules use your dumb rules, then please find a different hobby. Thanks.
