Maybe Texags should consider a vetted seller tag. I guess they would have to make sure there is no liability to Texags.

The people getting scammed aren't even buying from posters now (95%+ of the time). It's them not verifying who is reaching out to them is who they say they are.

Yes that just happened to me. I got scammed trying to buy here. Someone reached out to me by texting me directly. I thought it was the poster but now realize it wasn't. Beware.

I don't say this to blame anyone, but it really greatly enhances security if users would pay the $5/month in order to unlock private messaging. I don't like putting my phone number in posts and prefer DMing. Nobody can pretend to be me in DM's and scam money.

I've put up a few WTB posts, 2 for NMST but also 1 post for a volleyball game last Sunday.

User Agg52mo PM'd me for each of the NMST saying his friend has available tickets and to text a certain number.

Just got another message from the same user saying he has tickets for the volleyball game which is already in the past! They have bots running these scams!

Forgot to mention this users details show no posts but paid the subscription fee to look more legit. I emailed texags support and they haven't done anything about this guy yet.

Very true. I do think the core principles of vetting the seller still apply. I also think WTB threads are kind of a honey pot for scammers (I say, having one up right now)

This number tried to scam me for the New Mexico State game. Keep y'all's heads on a swivel, everyone.

New scammer - reached out to a non subscriber who just posted on my ticket exchange post and asked how to contact me. How do they get subscribers phone numbers? He almost took my fellow aggie for thousands!

Looking at their past posts where they left it in the past.

Just posted looking for 1 ticket to tu and was immediately contacted by the same number. I didn't even list my number in my post. They must've gone back in my post history from when I've forgotten to delete my number after selling tickets

That same number reached out to me yesterday when I responded to a post from BCSAG04 about parking lots H and J.

The text came from 464-228-8275

Not sure how he got my number but I guess at some point I responded to a post and put my phone number on there so shame on me.

Anyway, I said I wanted the pass for a lot J and when I received the text message andI asked him to communicate with me through private message on TexAgs through his account and he was completely offended. He said he was a man of God and didn't understand why I was so upset about $60

It seems as though several people have almost been scammed by this guy. I hope they can block him.

That's funny. The scammer that got me for Zach Bryan tickets mention god several times in my convo with them.

The scammer in question used this account to PM people but looks like that account lost its stars so can't PM anymore. Perhaps that why he's text people directly now.

I just received another text message from a different number for this same post on parking passes for user BCSAG04. I asked him the same thing and that was to please private message me so that we could arrange transfer. And that's me knowing full and well that this is another scammer. He responded and said he was unable to private message me. The phone number associated with this second attempt to get me to buy tickets was 9143 630097. I'm not sure if that's a flagged phone number or not. But everyone beware!

Everyone should seach through their entire posting history and scrub and mention of thier phone number.

I have a guy buying my tu tickets, and he responded to my posting. I believe a scammer looked through his posting history and found his phone number, then started texting him, but pretending to be me.

So he either got his phone number that way, or TexAgs has some security issues. So search your username and your area code and just see what is out there.

Then good Ags may actually send them tickets before scammer sends payment. They would do so on good will of seeing your username.
