Bain guts it out at #5, 6-7, 6-4, 7-5 (well I'm guessing it was 7-5 - the live scoring is stuck on 6-5 but indicates he won and A&M won 4-3). The rest of the matches were through by about the time his 3rd set started, so a great performance under pressure.
On the bandwagon since birth. Raised in the bleachers of Kyle, Olsen, and G. Rollie White
Dang that's awesome. I just got back from the drumming we took at Waco with the women. We got completely smacked around out there in singles. It was pretty bad.
Anyway, that sounds like an awesome match, Way to go Ags..
I wish I'd gone out there tonight. I was working on homework on campus and came home about 8:30. I knew we were in decent shape at that point. If I'd known it would have lasted this long I would have gone out there for sure. I was gonna get more work done tonight, but I've spent the last 2 hours staring at the live scoring on aggieathletics.com

Court 5 displayed to very gutsy performances. Bain was a beast when his back was against the wall. He came back when down 0-40 in countless games tonight. CLUTCH.
So glad I decided to go out to the match tonight! It was very long, but well worth every minute. Huge props to Matt Bain for sticking it out for 3 and a half hours...if you weren't there for the end, you missed a gutsy performance. Both guys could barely walk from the cramps they were experiencing.
Oh, and Will Ward for Baylor is the biggest ******bag I've ever seen.
This was one of the great college tennis matches you will ever see. The Aggies just got it done in the end. Props to Mathew Bain for a great performance at no. 5. We can't celebrate for very long, however, as we fly to Lubbock to play tech at 6:00 pm. Then back to CS and Pepperdine on Saturday evening.
Make sure those guys get lots of fluids. I was "privileged" to watch that cocky dirtbag Willy Ward get his arse handed to him by CP. What a great moment that was. I imagine he's over here playing tennis because New Zealand wanted to get rid of him. Most impressive thing for me is that 4 Texans, Oregon and Florida beat six guys from outside the U.S. Like Coach Cass said, he's proud of the guys and proud of the WAY they've done it. Gig'em!

I think part of that is the level of competition. When you are constantly playing Top 30 teams, you're going to win some and lose some. Plus, early in the year we were struggling indoors. These guys play with a lot "Billy Clyde" in them. BTHO-tt!
We also beat #2 Pepperdine in '99 and #2 TCU in '01...this was a very good win, this is not even close to the level of teams baylor has had the last 3 years so its good to take them down
Aston is right. I hope the guys take something with the win and know this is the kind of effort, day in and day out, it will take to be a top 10 team. With #2 Pepperdine coming up and then #3 Texas they'll get their chance to prove themselves, especially with Texas at home too. Can't afford any letdowns now. Let's go Ags..
Congradulations on the win vs Baylor. Internet scoring is not really the best way to follow and evaluate. However, one thing is very apparent. Texas A&M fought through some adverse situations and battled till the end. Nice win and should help get you into the top 16 for seeding an regional purposes.
It was a great win for a number of reasons. Anytime you beat the number four team in the nation it is a great win. When that team is Baylor who has not only had our number (and everyone elses for that matter) for several years, it is doubly sweet. Baylor is not as strong as they have been in the last couple of years, but they still find a way to bring in very talented athletes from all over the world. While I am proud to have a number of international students on our team, I am also proud that we allow some US players the chance to play division one tennis. This win will help with our seeding at the NCAA's and may actually give us a chance to host a regional tournament. It will be interesting to see if Texas can take care of the Bears in Waco. Texas is playing very well, and I think it is possible that Baylor might end up with two conference losses. Time will tell.
