We clinch the Premier League title for the first time 50 years with the 2-0 victory over Bolton. Super Frankie Lampard scores both of them in the second half after Bolton pressed for most of the match. After a quick celebration, it's time to turn to the next task -- beating Liverpool.

Thanks, Ag Since 83. All the Chelsea fans I know of in Texas were celebrating in Dallas or San Antonio, but I had to work and couldn't go to either place. This makes the Centinary year even more special.

An even more interesting situation is Liverpool. If they can make it to the CL finals that would be amazing.

yes! i'm hoping that will be a great matchup. first leg is tomorrow! pulling for Liverpool in this one.

2nd leg is tomorrow. The first leg was played last week. Liverpool held them to a 0-0 draw at Chelsea's home pitch.

sorry, yeah i read the report wrong. i must have totally missed last week's match. i sure won't miss today's.

It's on in about 30 minutes. The match itself starts at 1:45, but I think ESPN starts coverage at 1:30.

Liverpool 1-0. What did you think of the Liverpool goal? I can't say one or the other from the replays.

I recorded it and have looked at it several times and I think it was a goal but to be fair, I'm still not 100% sure.

A friend of my uncle has season tickets to the games at Anfield along with his two sons and I'm fairly certain they were there. He may not have left yet...

I had a meeting on campus so didn't get home until the 62nd minute. I still haven't seen the goal, but thank God Liverpool won.

I'll come by and eat my share of crow after that one. Liverpool win 1-0 on a questionable goal. It doesn't get much closer than that.

Liverpool's defense was solid, while Chelsea looked out of sorts. Robben came in late and looked lost. Drogba looked horrible all game. Gudjohnsen had the tying goal (which would've put Chelsea through) go just wide. Just a bad day for the Blues. Who knows, maybe Gerrard will be in Blue next season.

Congrats to Liverpool.

something funny just happened. i was reading this thread while listening to ESPN Radio, and they played a short clip of a Liverpool announcer giving the final score of the match and began singing "You'll Never Walk Alone". really strange but good timing.

I'm sure Bob Sturm will talk about the match at some point today on The Ticket.

Yeah, congrats. It's a bit weird to see a team wearing blue celebrating the title. There's supposed to be a lot of red in those pictures

On a side note, what a horrible call to give Chelsea a penalty in stoppage time. If there was any contact at all it was outside the box.

That penalty was a tough call. Being a Blue (and therefore biased ) I thought that the defender slid at Lampard from outside the box, but Lampard was completely inside the box when the defender raised his foot to trip Lampard up. And his foot was inside the box, too. So, it was very sketchy, but I thought it was OK.

Being a Gooner (and therefore biased ) I have to say it was definately outside the area. But hey, Chelsea didn't need the win and Charlton didn't need the point for anything, so no harm done, right?

Meanwhile, Arsenal beat Liverpool 3-1 today to guarantee Everton 4th position and a spot in the CL qualifying round. Arsenal are all but assured of second place now.
