Agree….. I think it has killed the MLS viewership even though MLS won't admit it.

I don't think the casual viewer will see a free race and then say I think I'll pay for it next week.

Bad move to grow the sport from a coverage standpoint. Add in the cars being too big, tracks being too small, racing being boring and all the drivers being boyfriends with each other...not a great time for F1.

The sport needs juice.

As a F1 TV Pro or Premium customer, we're letting you know that we will be phasing out direct subscriptions to F1 TV Pro and Premium.

Key Changes to note:

To keep watching F1 through to the end of the 2025 season, F1 TV Pro and Premium annual and monthly subscriptions and renewals are available until the following dates:
  • Monthly Subscriptions: From December 8th this year, fans in the US will no longer be able to purchase a new F1 TV Pro or Premium monthly subscription and existing subscriptions will no longer renew.
  • Annual Subscriptions: From October 17th this year, fans in the US will no longer be able to purchase a new F1 TV Pro or Premium annual subscription.
  • From November 17th this year, existing F1 TV Pro or Premium annual subscriptions will no longer renew.
Your subscription

Considering these changes, this is what it means for your F1 TV Pro monthly subscription.

Just received the same email. I would say that saves me $85/year, but we all know that will be covered by some increase in the Apple TV monthly subscription cost

Same. I already have Apple TV and F1TV, so this isn't much of a change, but feels like there will be an increase somewhere. If not, it will be a pleasant surprise.

that's going to be the case for a lot of people.

F1 was growing so fast here, but if it's not readily available, they're going to kill a lot of that momentum.

Same thing happened with MLS. Gives the league lots of short term money, but you'll never convince me it's good for the the sport's overall growth.

Apple TV is pretty good and has some good shows. I'm a cord cutter so already subscribe and now I get he F1 package thrown in.

For those who don't have it. It's $140 a year. That's one meal out with the fam. You can afford it.

I'm just tired of all the services. We had almost all of them except Apple TV at one point. Been actively cutting back. Without multiple services you can't see everything. Espn was the best home since most steaming has it.

Also gave up on the Rangers because of their TV plan. That's not on many providers and didn't buy their app. This might not be so bad for f1 if they just ran a few months and you could cut it off but it's most of the year.

I watched every race abd quali but I doubt I care enough to pay more.

Cut the cord. I have most every streaming services including YouTubeTv and still pay way less than I was paying for just xfinity or DirectTv. So streaming is saving me and I don't look at stuff like this as "extra".

If you paid for a F1TV subscription, then signing up for Apple TV next year is really no different. Just a different app. Not sure on the cost difference. But at least with Apple TV you get some great shows along with F1. So you're actually getting more for your money. And you can cancel at anytime.

Agreed, and the $15 price is the lower Peacock package I think the higher one is $20.

I have Apple and love it, so not a big deal to me...

Getting into F1 this year, and the Sundays I can wake up early and watch the pre-race show and go into the race live with my coffee is really enjoyable... but some mornings I sleep in and just start watching the recording whenever I get up... so hopefully that's still doable.

How does watching stuff like the Saturday qualifying work currently? You have to watch online or some kind of subscription? I'd be interested in watching that stuff if its on Apple, which I'd assume is the case.
