I'm curious why we stopped setting our middles, I know Perkins wasn't super productive, but we chose to go to Humphrey over our all sec middle many times

And we also only hit .167 and had 5 blocks! This was not our best volleyball whatsoever, nowhere close to how we can play! To get a win with this play speaks volumes to these girls!
That was a tense game. The win vs t.u. was more intense but this one was just so frustrating.
Negatives:
CSU is utlra-scrappy and we couldn't stop Jones the entire night it seems. I've never seen someone win so many backrow attacks so consistently. What an athlete.
Our block was practically non-existent after the first set and we have a much harder time without it.
We can't cover a tip or setter dump. Just not prepare for them at all. On the other hand, our tips are ineffective.
Waak's sets seemed off at a times. We had to tip the ball way too often (especially the middles) while CSU was blasting away on their end.
Positives:
But our team is resilient for sure. Could have easily lost this game due to loss of composure. That end of the 3rd set fight was crazy with Jones and Lednicky battling it out.
Humphrey I felt played one of her better games but she and Hellmuth was off and on all night. Luckily they did just enough at the right times to contribute in a big way.
9 aces is pretty dang good. Also Humphrey's clutch serve at the end kept CSU out of system (you know the set was going to Jones otherwise) which allowed us to get the final kill.
ON TO THE NEXT! I think we play a more solid game against ASU.
