Agree! Roberts has been running extremely well, surprise of the year and most improved! Chastain ran a great race today, that improvement is insane and great for the 5th year senior! Kennady Fontenot is trending up and we know what she can do! Maddie Peters has been reliable, but we will only go as far as Maddie Livingston and San Juanita Leal will take us! Hopefully SJ can come back soon we all know the potential that Livingston has, I don't know the severity of the injury that kept her out during track but I hope she can return to form, there's only about a month left! I expect Emma Little to improve as well, and if we are healthy then Shewaye needs to run for us to give us a shot!

Texas Tech beat both our women and men.

Kenya Tech* they replaced their whole team with distance runners from Kenya and they go from a big 12 bottom feeder to a national contender… they added a couple on the women's side and one who is near the top in the nation individually.

One of the top cross country runners in the state of Texas is an Aggie! Welcome home Gavin Chapa! The San Antonio Reagan distance runners PR's are extremely impressive! Monday we won his regional cross country meet and will be battling for first at state! This is a huge piece for the Ags along with Caden Gary! Men headed in the right direction! Two huge pieces added to our young roster! His sister is currently enrolled at Texas A&M and both of his parents are Aggies!

His club group is Celebrity Performance, a really talented group based out of San Antonio! Sophia Bendet is part of that group, as is young stars Elizabeth Leachman, and the Latta Sisters!

Roster limits just set for SEC XC at 10. Ten. T.E.N. That's not even enough to sustain basic function. Zero room for injuries, intrasquad competition, athlete development. Meanwhile, 60 football players ride the pine.

My daughter's HS teammate runs at Tech. She loves all the rude 30 YO Kenyan men. So awesome.

That is the squad size for the SEC XC Championships - just like there is a squad size for SEC Indoors and Outdoors. For other XC meets involving multiple SEC teams, no squad size restrictions apply to a host SEC team, but 12 runners must be declared prior to the start of competition. A visiting SEC XC team is limited to a squad size of 12 student-athletes.

Next year, the roster limit will be 17 on each XC team - there will be some decent runners looking for a landing spot next year. There probably won't be a change to the 10 declared runners in the XC champsionships.

Ok, but that's not what the announcement says. It says the proposed limits are 17/45, and the SEC will be 10/35.

This needs to be regulated. International athletes shouldn't be over X age + they must spend at least two years in the US beforehand, in school. This is getting ridiculous. A majority of non revenue sports are dominated by international athletes sans Baseball and Softball. It's out of hand

If it doesn't rain I hope they water down some of the bare spots on the course. There was quite a dust cloud in some spots caused by the cart leading the runners at the last meet.

No updates from the conference meet, but we added a great runner to our girls side with the commitment of Ava Cole! A talented and accomplished runner from the powerhouse program of Flower Mound who's won back to back to back to back 6A titles and is going for a 5th! Love tapping into this program! She placed 28th at state back to back years but I expect her to contend for a top ten spot this year! Her PR's are

Hopefully there's a good crowd tomorrow! Races begin a little after 9am at the Dale Watts Cross Country Course! However it will also be shown on the SEC Network at 9am! Women run first followed by the men at 9:50!

And according to his press conference San Juanita Leal will not race this cross country season after hurting her ankle, but she will get to use a medical redshirt and be a freshman again next season which is crazy!

Shewaye Johnson will most likely not redshirt after racing unattached last week!

Biggest questions I wanna see!

- First and foremost the health and fitness level for Maddie Livingston!

- if Shewaye Johnson can replicate what she did in her first meet back last time out

- Will Kennady Fontenot continue to get better and lead this team! She's done well in big races in prior years!

- Will Megan Roberts and Maddie Peters continue to run well and step up in their first SEC Meet!

- Is Jonathan Ching going to continue to get stronger each meet like he has been doing after injury

- How far up top will Jack Johnston and Zack Munger stay to the top (Arkansas is loaded and can have 10 guys in the top 30)

- Who else steps up and closes the gap, Gordy, Rono, Santorum?

I'm so excited to watch tomorrow!! I know the camera aren't the best in a cross country meet, but it still gives our program a chance to showcase its beautiful course and facilities to the rest of the sec and recruits! Hopefully it's a good watch!
