He's under 150 lbs still; in fact last time his mom posted he was at 138 lbs! He's just not going to see the field in the SEC much at that weight, regardless of how fast he is.

Jeff Demps was 175 and Trindon Holliday was at 170. There are guys like Tez Johnson currently at 155. I guess they felt the frame wasn't there and couldn't afford to wait.

Either way, it's going to be a blast these next few months!!! SEC outdoors is always a treat, then we get to host regionals and that regional meet will host USC, Tech, Arkansas, Oregon, Washington and us, it's gonna be crazy, then nationals!!! Buckle in!

Headed to the state meet tonight for my son's last races in his wheelchair. They moved it up to 8 a.m. Friday because of the weather.

Wheelchair is the same day as the 5A meet. Although 5A is a great meet, I won't get to see Cooper Lutkenhaus run the 800, since Northwest moved to 6A this year. Elizabeth Leachman has been sick for a while (hope she's okay), and the marquee event of the state meet this year is the boy's 100m (although the boys' and girls' 6A distance races should be electric). The boys' 6A 4x4 has the top 3 qualifiers all from Region 3, so that's neat. Also, it looks like the girls' 6A title is Atascocita's to lose. Hope they can nail those handoffs and bring it home, led by the Maxwell twins.

Oh, and why can't Texas have Steeple and 4x8???

Not anyone I've worked with directly this season! My top guy got hurt in football and my top girl fouled out at regionals! but a guy I worked with last summer and know his family really well is competing in the 5A shot put and discus! He's a junior whose dream school is Aggieland!

Also yeah, sad that Leachman isn't running! It sorta felt weird without her this year! Taylor Nunez of 3A should be the star of the meet!

Can the top 48 marks be affected by the conference meets this weekend? Like Carlie Weiser is at 47 in Discus. Could she potentially lose her spot for regionals if other people have a better distance?

Very much so! It's safe to say if you're on the bubble and don't PR it'll be hard to stay in the top 48! Conference is where a lot of athletes make huge jumps and really impact these rankings!

I don't like this. She hasn't run an 800 in a while and she's going straight to the wolves.

If I were her coach and trying to sabotage her, what she has been doing since she left College Station would be it.

Completely agree! It's simply a mismanagement!! This year all she's done is a 5k where she dropped out after 3k and then a 1500 against 2 division 3 runners. Unless she runs in a couple very competitive 800's in June, but I doubt it…

And if this is another sign up and then pull out before the race, I'm gonna be disappointed to the highest degree

Crazy that when we had Mu and Gittens they handed us our ass in a dual meet (even though we finished No. 2 at NCAA's indoor and out). Texas has fallen off big time.

Yeah that was a rough day lol. Flo's recruiting has been off compared to when he first got there. From someone I know on the team there's just a whole big disconnected mess! The distance coaches have little to no say on who they can add, the throws coach focuses on Valerie Allman and not his own throwers. Flo seems to focus a lot on his pro athletes and it's catching up to him. I think they'll only have one guy score at nationals this year, their hurdler and one female hurdler and a female thrower.

To be fair I'd focus on Valerie too
